What are the Drawbacks to Same Day Dentures?
While same day dentures do offer several significant benefits, there are some drawbacks. One of the biggest is that same day dentures do cost more than a traditional denture. Because the denture is created before your extractions, you may not be able to see what it looks like in your mouth before you get it. Same day dentures also may not always fit as securely. Moreover, as your gums and jawbone shrink, it can become loose. As a result, you will need to have the denture relined several times before you completely heal. Some patients may even need to have a completely new denture made.
